I migrated a user to a new computer using this software called Laplink, that was awesome and saved me a couple hours of time!! However, what I found out a few days later was that for some reason all the Java registry entries were transferred to the new machine so it thought that Java was already installed!
So I say to myself, "No problem, let's just go reinstall it!" However, when you try to install Java it checks for registry entries to see if it's already installed and because it thought that it was, it would not run the installer again!
I tried installing different versions of Java and those would work (i.e. install), but they would not run in the browser because there were still registry entries in there stating that the newer version was installed!
Well, after 2 hours of messing with uninstaller tools and registry cleaners, a simple batch file by this awesome specimen of humanity worked in about 30 seconds!
Thanks for putting this together, you rock!

This is a posting of links to things I find online that I like. I will probably go back someday and write down some info for these things, but mostly, it's just links.

Mount NTFS Drives to a MAC
So after getting my first MAC, I found that I needed to mount an external drive and copy some data to and from the MAC. Well, unless I wanted to move the data off and reformat the thing like the Apple Community says to do, I had to find a way to be able to read and write to NTFS.
The fix, NTFSMounter! Just Attach the drives and then eject them when MAC mounts them. Once you've done that, run the program and follow the instructions. The tool will mount NTFS drives for you and you can keep on trucking!

Free Email Marketing for Life!
Benchmark Email has a free email marketing service that will allow users to send up to 10,000 emails per month for free...what's the catch?
Well, you can only build your list with the signup form they provide. That does not sound so bad, I need a form to collect that data already, so it seems to make sense that I should use their form to collect that data.

But what are they going to do with the data that is collected through the form? According to them, nothing!
